• Parents ‘n Tots
This is an informal social time for preschoolers with their parents, grandparents and/or caregivers. We meet every Friday from 10:00-11:30 am in Heartz Hall. We provide space to play, including small ride-on toys, playdough table, play kitchen and a special area for babies. Coffee and tea are provided for adults as is a healthy snack of juice, cheese and crackers and cookies for the children. It’s a great opportunity for newcomers to the area who have small children and for new parents who are looking for some social time for themselves and their little ones. There is no charge, although a small donation for snack food is appreciated.
• Food Bank
Our church members volunteer at the Food Bank in Amherst every other month on Mondays. We also receive donations at the church for items and these items are taken to the Food Bank or are placed in the “birthday bags” that we supply.
• Benevolent Fund
The Benevolent Fund is used to help people who need assistance with paying expenses such as heat, oil and rent. It is funded by the church, groups within the church, and outside donations.
• Christmas Cheer Program
We assemble boxes (monetary donations and food items) and create packages for families in need during the holiday season. We work with other churches, Feed Nova Scotia, and Maggie’s Place on this project.
• Visitation Programs
We regularly visit members or adherents who may not be able to attend services, be they at home, at nursing homes or other residential care. We deliver bulletins, offer fellowship and company, or keep them aware of church news and events.
During the holiday season, we deliver poinsettias to “shut-ins”, delivering Christmas cheer to members or adherents of the congregation who may have trouble leaving their place of residence.
• “Music at Trinity”
We organize and host exceptional “world class” performances throughout the year expanding our musical outreach with the broader community. Follow the link above for information on the venue, the concert series and upcoming events.
We support the community with various other projects including collecting donations for our “back pack” program for young people identified as not having a permanent residence and with the local Autumn House including donations of household supplies and Mother’s Day gift bags.
